As we gather together, we must understand that worship does not just encompass music or singing but it consumes everything we do as Christians. Because of this, our worship should never end from when we wake to when we sleep; we glorify Him. The Greek translation of the word “worship” in this context is “proskuneó,” which is defined as “a physical act of lowering oneself in humble submission with an attitude of utmost adoration or respect.” So as we gather as one Body in worship of our Savior Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, we submit to Biblical teaching, we humble ourselves in individual and communal prayer, and come to fellowship in adoration of our Lord.

We do not gather for entertainment or selfish gain but to ONLY give of ourselves to the Lord in worship. This is all FOR CHRIST GLORIFIED!

42 And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers.
— Acts 2:42

BIBLICAL TEACHING

2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. - 2 Timothy 4:2-4

We believe the need for the teaching of sound Biblical doctrine is beyond great. The current Christian/church culture seems to be bent on consuming anything other than the FULL Truth only found in the Word of God. From the pulpit, to books, to study material, and social content, it is difficult to find anything that brings you to the TRUTH of the Scriptures and not self-service. We are in an age of people “wanting their ears tickled,” and many church organizations as well as “Christian” products are proof of that, producing those who SAY they believe in Jesus but have yet to deny themselves, pick up their cross, and follow Him. (Matthew 16:24) This is not the heart of our ministry and will stand on the foundation of the Word all FOR CHRIST GLORIFIED!

PRAYER

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. - James 5:16

The act of prayer in obedience of God has been diluted in many Sunday services. It has become either a repeated liturgy or a shallow bookend during worship. Though a repeated prayer is not necessarily a bad prayer, it can become stagnant, which can lead to it being false words from our lips if our heart is not aligned. All of this can be avoided if we remember the purpose of prayer - our personal communication with Jesus our Savior. This is no light act of obedience; it is an honor to have the ability to speak and petition with our Lord and Savior at any point. Though our personal prayer life is of immense importance, it is just as important that when we gather together, we pray. This is done through outward speaking of prayers together, the laying of hands onto those in prayer in a shared communal outcry, and personal prayers internally spoken.

FELLOWSHIP

24 And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. - Hebrews 10:24-25

We gather in fellowship, not in guilt or compulsion, but for Christ and the Body. The purpose of coming together as one local Church Body is not because this is “how we’ve always done it,” but because it is a command of Scripture to do so. This is not a social club gathering but a blessed coming together of the members of the Body. This is a time of fellowship in worship of our God and a building up of the Body of believers. We gather to support each other through scripture, prayer, a shared meal, and encouragement from our brothers and sisters in the Church Body.
